Brain-imaging research as well as other experimental data make clear that learning to write by hand is I researched and wrote the proposed national handwriting and keyboarding standards, completing grades K-8 in 2012 and prekindergarten in 2014. Additionally, children are now completely immersed in technology, much of which contains a keyboard and other manipulatives (such as a mouse) that require fine motor skills.
